This artwork celebrates 8 Margaret's Buildings, is a late 18th-century terraced house and part of a fashionable Georgian street that originally served the wealthy residents of the nearby Royal Crescent and The Circus. From 1890-1981 it was Cater, Stoffell and Fortt, a luxurious shop dubbed the "Fortnums of the West", known for selling high-end goods, including the Bath Oliver biscuit and foie gras. The building's ground floor was later reconfigured into a commercial space, but the historic character and original structures, including 18th-century servants' quarters, remain.
